How to read the timing

Time to first email is measured from subscription to the earliest received message. Each send gap measures elapsed time from the previous email, while the median gap is the middle gap after sorting. For an even number of gaps, it averages the two middle values. The sequence span runs from the first received message to the last.

Local times can cross a daylight-saving transition; elapsed hours reflect that change. This calculator uses the timestamps you provide, so it cannot distinguish a scheduled delay from delivery delay, inbox filtering, or a trigger caused by your actions. Recheck the source email headers if exact delivery timing matters.

For a useful competitor comparison, pair cadence with each message's purpose and CTA. The welcome sequence analysis guide shows what to record beyond the clock.
